My wife and I were speaking this morning about our poetry, and it suddenly dawned on me that it is Fifty years ago this year that I was first published.
In 1976, at the age of Eighteen, I had published in an anthology "Life Through Poetry", published by Regency Press, two poems. One poem had been written when I was twelve years old and the other when I was sixteen.
Seven years later, in 1983 I published my first collection of poetry and song lyrics "A Handful of Songs & Poems" published by The Dickins Publishing Co Ltd.
Since then I have had many poems published in newspapers, magazines and anthologies, as well as on-line. My collection of poetry and song lyrics is also now available as an e-book on Amazon: A Handful of Songs & Poems eBook : Lidster, Robert: Amazon.co.uk: Books
So here's looking forward to the next fifty years!
