A LITTLE NONSENSE RHYME

THE GOBBLY GOOK

The Gobbly Gook, he spoke no joke,

and made no sense at all.

The words that tripped from between his lips,

were worse than a siren's call.

He stood six feet high and four feet wide,

and he weighed a ton or more.

His eyes were green with a nose in-between,

that almost reached the floor.

With yellow teeth and red tongue beneath,

he looked a horrid sight.

And when visitors came to call, one and all,

would soon be taking flight.

Feared by men, time and time again,

he reigned like some kind of king.

But women seemed to like his voice,

when the Gobbly Gook began to sing.

With lips pursed wide, from deep inside,

a sound like nothing else.

The music stirred all kinds of life,

from flea and fly and mouse.

From far and wide, to sit by his side,

the creatures came in droves.

And one by one, when all had come,

he sang in melodic tones.

His voice rang out, but not a shout,

nor a whisper, but a song.

With words which all believed were just for them,

and just for them alone.

Once mesmerised and hypnotised,

they bowed before his might.

Whilst hours flew by and days grew short,

and dark became the night.

Soon men and kings, and all between,

began to hatch a plan.

To rid the world of the Gobbly Gook,

to banish him, if they can.

They sent their knights, who soon took flight,

and men of brawn and brain.

But none could force the Gobbly Gook,

to relinquish his mystic reign.

Until one day, or so they say,

a princess stole a kiss.

Although, no one could, or ever should,

believe a tale like this.

But please take heed, for once the deed,

was done for one and all.

The world would never, ever hear,

the Gobbly Gook's melodic call.

That is why, now, so many cry,

for the loss of the Gobbly Gook.

For you will never, ever find him,

no matter how hard you look.
